The solar park will provide green energy for Yettel and CETIN, which signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Electrohold Trade. So far this is the largest corporate PPA in Bulgaria, and is expected to provide 80% and about 86% of the two companies’ total consumption, respectively.
The Verila PV power plant has a capacity of 123 MW and its location at 700-1000 m above sea level on rugged terrain with steep slopes makes the project one of the most challenging and attractive in Europe. The main contractor of the installation is the Bulgarian-German SUNOTEC, which is also among the founding companies of APSTE.
The solar park is built of over 220 thousand PV panels and more than 4240 tonnes of steel structure. During the days with intense sunshine, the plant will produce electricity that can feed areas such as Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad. The installed power of the photovoltaic park makes up 7% of the total installed capacity in this segment in the country according to ENTSO-E data by 2022. A team of over 200 SUNOTEC experts participated in the construction of the plant, which started in September 2022.

We are already thinking about the next steps-the expansion of the RES the capacity and the implementation of the best form of storage of the produced green energy,” said Kiril Boshov, chairman of the Board of Directors of Eurohold and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Electrohold Prodazhbi.
