On May 27th 2024, the EU’s 27 governments approved the Net-Zero Industry Act in Brussels. The move follows the European Parliament plenary vote in April and marks the final step of the process before publication and entry into force. The regulation aims to boost the industrial deployment of net-zero technologies that are needed to achieve the EU’s climate goals, using the strength of the single market to reinforce Europe’s position as a leader in industrial green technologies. The act will enter into force on the day of its publication in an EC journal, which is expected towards the end of June.
